Choosing childcare is personal.
Some families choose childcare because they want to. Others choose it because they need to.
Some parents are excited to return to work. Some wish they had more time.
Some have always imagined childcare being part of their family's story, while others never pictured leaving their baby in someone else's care.
There is no right way to arrive here.
However you arrived at the decision to choose childcare, we want to make the transition feel as supported, thoughtful, and personal as possible.
You are trusting us with someone extraordinarily important to you.
We never want that to feel ordinary.
We want you to know your child's days will matter here. Their routines will matter.
Their preferences will matter. Their development will matter. And the little things you tell us about them will matter, too.
That relationship begins every morning.
At drop off, we check in with you about the night before. How did they sleep? When did they last eat? Is something a little different today?
Is there anything you want us to know before you leave?
And when you come back at the end of the day, we want to tell you about more than bottles, naps, and diaper changes. We want you to hear about their day. What made them laugh.
What they explored. Something new they tried. A moment we noticed.
You will see plenty of updates throughout the day through our parent portal, but we never want technology to replace the conversations that build a relationship between home and Sagewood.
Because caring for your child means building a relationship with your family, too.

Sagewood Childcare

Babies and young children do not all eat at the same time, sleep at the same time, develop at the same pace, or need comfort in the same way.
We do not expect them to.
Feeding, sleep, movement, play, connection, sensory experiences, outdoor time, and everyday care are approached with each individual child in mind.
Our educators observe closely, communicate with families, and respond to what each child is showing us.
The goal is not to make your child fit Sagewood.
The goal is to make Sagewood work for your child.
The bottle they prefer a certain way.
The song that settles them.
The nap that did not happen last night.
The new sound they started making this week.
The way they reach for a familiar caregiver.
The food they suddenly love.
The way they are trying desperately to stand on everything.
The tiny details of early childhood tell us so much.
Knowing them is part of caring for them.
The Infant Collective is designed to grow with children from infancy through the early toddler years.
Licensing requirements consider chronological age when determining ratios and groupings, and we always follow those requirements. But age alone does not tell us who a child is or what they are ready for.
We also consider movement, communication, regulation, relationships, independence, curiosity, confidence, and comfort within their environment.
Children are given room to grow without being rushed toward the next stage simply because another birthday has arrived.
And when they are ready for a more intentional preschool experience, their next chapter begins at Sagewood Schoolhouse.
Individualized care cannot happen without knowing the family behind the child.
We want to know what happened last night. We want to know when feeding changes, when sleep changes, when something new is happening at home, and when you have questions.
And we want to share the little moments happening here with you, too.
Childcare should not feel like two separate versions of your child's life.
Parenthood comes with questions that do not always have simple answers.
That is why we are intentionally building relationships with trusted specialists, educators, and community partners who can bring additional knowledge and resources to Sagewood families and educators.
As these relationships grow, our vision includes additional support surrounding feeding, lactation, bottle transitions, infant development, developmental screening, sleep, and the transition into childcare, along with continuing education for the people caring for your child each day.
We believe excellent infant care includes knowing when another perspective or area of expertise can better support a family.
Our environments are intentionally designed for the children experiencing them.
Soft places to land. Room to move. Thoughtfully chosen materials. Natural light. Outdoor experiences. Familiar caregivers. Cozy spaces for rest and connection.
Nothing needs to be overstimulating to be interesting.
Some of the most meaningful learning in these years happens on the floor, in someone's arms, outside in the grass, around the table, or during an ordinary moment that becomes something more.
Maybe you have toured larger programs and wanted something smaller.
Maybe individualized care matters deeply to you.
Maybe you want caregivers who will know your child beyond their schedule.
Maybe you want development to guide their experience rather than a birthday on the calendar.
If that sounds like what you have been searching for, we would love to meet you.
Choosing care for your baby is deeply personal. A website can tell you what we believe, but the best way to understand Sagewood is to walk through our doors, experience the environment, meet us, and ask the questions that matter to your family.
